I started my Girlguiding journey as a Brownie in Biggleswade, Bedfordshire, achieving my Queen’s Guide as a fresh faced 16 year old. I still remember my first camp at Gilwell Park – I was mostly terrified and homesick! Fast forward a couple of years and after our family moved to Milton Keynes, I volunteered with 1st Downs Barn Brownies and took my first Pack Holiday to Ellesborough. It seems so long ago now. Due to work and other commitments, Guiding took a back seat for a while but once my daughter joined 1st Shenley Brownies, I was persuaded to become part of the team and found my Guiding family once again. I have been so lucky to be part of the amazing group of volunteers in Milton Keynes Division, who provide a wealth of experience and are able to support me in my various roles. I was extremely proud to be asked to join Janet and the county team and hope that I can continue to support our volunteers in the north of the county as much as I can.
