Girlguiding is part of a truly global movement, and we can offer members a vast range of amazing international adventures. In Buckinghamshire, Girlguiding offers a wide range of international adventures for girls and adults, from County trips, to Division, District and Unit trips and the opportunity for individuals to take part in Region and National trips as well.
Past County trips for girls and adults have included: World Scout Jamborees; trips to Jamborees in Finland, Luxembourg, Netherlands; Ulster; Sri Lanka; Mongolia; Iceland. World Centre trips to Sangam, Our Cabana, Our Chalet, and the Scout World Centre in Kandersteg. Other trips have included The Azores, Malta, New Zealand, and Canada.
We continue to accept applications from young members in the County to be part of trips in 2026 and 2027. Currently we are looking at several international trips, dependent on whether we have enough adults to lead, and girls to attend, these exciting opportunities.
Applications from Guides, Rangers and Young Leaders should arrive NO LATER THAN 11 APRIL 2025.
Anyone applying for a trip will need to attend the County INTOPS selection day, which will be held on: SUNDAY 18 MAY 2025 at ELLESBOROUGH GUIDE CENTRE – please note this is a revised date and location. Unfortunately, there will be no alternative date.
More details of the day can be found on the consent form and there is also an information sheet which gives more details for parents, carers, and young members of the trips on offer, costs etc.
We look forward to seeing you on 18 May 2025!
Guides, rangers, and young leaders are invited to come along and cook a two-course meal outdoors, cooked by any means of your choice and served to our judges. There will be two events, one at Herons Lodge on 29 July 2025 and one at Ellesborough on 5 July 2025. You need only come to one event – whichever is preferred.
If you have any questions or would like more information on any of the above, please email Margaret Lorton at: International@girlguidingbucks.org.uk
Two Buckinghamshire County trips took place in August 2024 – one to Malta and another to Kandesteg in Switzerland. Three Anglia leader trips are taking place this year too – 2 to Our Chalet Adelboden in Switzerland and one to Sangam in India. We look forward to hearing all about their adventures.
A Bucks county trip stayed at KISC (Kandersteg International Scout Centre) in August 2024. 8 Rangers and 3 leaders enjoyed a trip to chocolate and cheese factories, trips to Bern and Gruyere, a boat trip on lake Thun, a hike into the alps and a visit to the glacial lake Ochinensee plus a day out to Our Chalet in Adelboden. They also experienced all that the 'permanent mini jamboree' site had to offer. They made friends from across the world, tasted food from other countries and earned Kandersteg challenge badges.
