Young Leader Coordinator

Sarah Pearce

Girlguiding has always been a part of my life whether that is being directly involved, watching my daughter move through the sections or knowing what a fantastic impact my many Girlguiding adventures have had on my life in general.

I started out as a Brownie (no Rainbows back then), Guide and then Young Leader.

Rangers was in another village and we didn’t have the transport to get there.

This did not stop me from making the most of opportunities offered to young members though.

I have taken part in two GOLD projects in Russia (the second one I led), been a delegate at the European Scout and Guide conference in Luxembourg, supported the development of Girl Guiding in Cairo, Egypt and also visited Sangam and took part in an international event there.

As an adult leader, I have been involved in Guides, Brownies and most recently setting up a new Rainbow unit.

I hope that in this role, I will not only be able to support Young Leaders (and their adult leaders) across the county to engage with the new development programme but also share the vast range of opportunities in Girlguiding that are available to them.
