About the Competition Hikes and Rainbow Ramble
The competition hike recently celebrated its 25th anniversary. It even ran virtually in 2021, due to the coronavirus pandemic.
It is run from Ellesborough Guide centre, teams of Brownies, Guides, Rangers and Adults all take part. Each vying to take first place in their respective competitions. All enjoying their day out in the Chiltern countryside. In 2023 it has been expanded to include a 'Rainbow Ramble'

Do you and the girls in your unit enjoy a challenge?
The Competition Hikes are for Brownies, Guides, Rangers, YLs and adults. Why don’t you take up the challenge and enter in 2024?
Why not enter a team of girls or be part of a team yourself or do both?

There are THREE distances to choose from:
5km (Accompanied Brownie teams only), 10km and 20km
Teams of 4-7 girls (Brownies plus an accompanying adult or Guides – accompanied or unaccompanied) or 3+ Rangers, YLs or Adults
Rainbows can take part virtually with their unit or family during the period 6th May 2024 -17th May 2024 or come to Ellesborough on Saturday, 11th May and walk the 3km route in groups of 4 Rainbows plus 2 adults.
We are also looking for help on the day. From Check In to Finish Marshalls and everything in between. Can you welcome girls on arrival or input data, make tea or staff a checkpoint on route? Whatever your skills we have a role for you
